The Black Lens has quickly become the go to source of information and news for Spokane’s African American community. Since its first issue in January 2015, The Black Lens has grown from twelve to twenty-four pages, with a distribution that has grown from 500 to 1,000 issues per month. Papers are distributed to targeted locations in Spokane’s Black community (ie. churches, businesses, organizations and African American focused events). Papers are also delivered to community centers, libraries and colleges, as well as to a variety of other public locations around Spokane, and there are over two hundred subscribers who have the Black Lens mailed to them each month.
